    What is success?

    What does success mean?  When I first sat down to write this, I started by thinking about the big goals that Lifestyle Medicine has inspired me to look for… a purposeful, fulfilled, meaningful life with balance between the different aspects (pillars) of life.  Being a part of the Lifestyle Medicine community inspires me to have good healthy goals, to eat wholesome well-balanced nutrition, to be physically active, to be connected to those we have relationships with and our community, to practice good self-care, to look after our mental health and wellbeing, and to avoid those things that are unhelpful or harmful.     How (not) to get back to work after a holiday…

    One of my coaches who I supervise said to me in a session this week… “as a coach I am so good at supporting my patients with what they should be doing to feel better but I’m terrible at doing it myself”.  This really resonated with me particularly this week. I went away on holiday last week, and started back at work after the bank holiday weekend.  I can soundly say that I have not followed my own advice about how to look after yourself and do good self-care in practice.  So here are my top ten tips of how NOT to get back to work after a holiday… then…

    New Year, New Habits?

    I am not a fan of making new resolutions just because of a calendar date, but that might be just me! If you are making new years resolutions, then here are my 5 top tips: Lastly, keeping track of what you have done can help you to see how much you have accomplished.
